Do you like a faced paced day, which is never the same ?

We are looking for a confident and organised receptionist to join our busy salon group.

This is a flexible role and we are looking for 3 days a week in our Summertown Salon, OX2 7HT, and 1 day a week in our Headington salon, OX3 9AE.

Popham Hairdressing has three salons across Oxford, in Summertown, Jericho and Headington. We are a well-established salon group with a loyal client base and a reputation for high standards. The reception team plays a key role in ensuring the salon runs smoothly and that every client receives a warm, professional welcome.

Our salons are contemporary spaces where quality and commitment to hair is paramount, and where we take great care with our clients' experience.

The role

This is a varied and fast-paced front of house position where you will be responsible for keeping the day running smoothly and supporting both clients and the salon team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and welcoming clients
  • Managing bookings and diary scheduling
  • Answering phone calls and responding to emails
  • Processing payments and retail sales
  • Providing drinks and client hospitality
  • Supporting stylists throughout the day
  • Keeping the reception area organised and running efficiently

This role requires someone who can stay calm under pressure, think ahead, and manage several tasks at once while maintaining a friendly and professional manner.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Organised and proactive
  • Friendly, confident and professional with clients
  • Calm and efficient in a busy environment
  • Comfortable managing bookings and schedules
  • A strong communicator with excellent spoken English

Essential requirements

  • Minimum 2 years receptionist experience
  • Previous experience in a professional client-facing environment (salon, clinic, hotel reception, office reception etc.)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
