About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated OSINT Analyst to join our OSINT team. This role supports the OSINT team by sourcing, verifying, and processing open-source information into accurate METIS event records. Each event captures an interaction involving a person and a munition, platform, or CBRN agent. The postholder will monitor relevant information streams, create events and help improve how events are sourced, categorised, and reviewed.

METIS is an advanced OSINT system that helps decision makers, analysts, and trainers understand rapidly evolving threats by combining subject matter expertise with proprietary AI tools to deliver verified intelligence across conflict, post-conflict, and instability contexts.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in geopolitics, conflict monitoring, and open-source intelligence who enjoys working with data.

Key job functions

  • Monitor and review daily information feeds within METIS, assessing content for relevance and determining whether it should be recorded as an event.
  • Maintain awareness of geopolitical developments, security trends, and conflict-related activity within the assigned region(s) of responsibility to support accurate event identification and contextual analysis.
  • Review event data to identify patterns, trends, and indicators relating to the use of munitions, platforms, and CBRN agents, escalating significant findings to the appropriate teams where necessary.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of event records, identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in the dataset.
  • Develop, monitor, and refine API collection rules and data acquisition processes, identifying new information sources and optimising existing rules to maximise the relevance and quality of collected data.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the OSINT team and wider organisation to improve event sourcing methodologies, enhance data quality, and contribute to the ongoing development of METIS.

Additional job functions

  • Assist with additional requirements as specified and agreed.

Days

  • 3 days per week (with strong prospects for full-time hours in future)
