Flexible Staffing Recruiter (Bank & Casual) – Early Years
Salary: Up to £30,000 per year, plus performance bonuses
Job type: Full-time, permanent

Recruiter / Resourcing Specialist
Childcare & Learning Group runs around 20 nurseries across London and Surrey, and we are looking for a recruiter who lives and breathes flexible staffing. This is a specialist role focused entirely on building and running our own pool of bank, casual and part-time early years staff, so our nurseries can cover absence and busy periods quickly, safely and without expensive agencies.
If you enjoy the fast pace of temp or bank recruitment, love keeping a big pool of candidates engaged, and want your work to have a real impact on cost and on the quality of care children receive, this is a great fit.
What you'll be doing
- Building and growing our internal pool of flexible and bank early years staff across all our settings.
- Attracting candidates who want flexible, casual or part-time work, through job boards, social media, referrals and community channels.
- Running the full recruitment process for flexible roles, from advert to offer to onboarding.
- Matching cover requests from our nursery managers to available staff, fast.
- Being the go-to person managers turn to for cover, instead of reaching for an agency.
- Carrying out safer recruitment checks on every hire (DBS, right to work, references, qualifications and more), because the safety of children always comes first.
- Onboarding staff onto compliant bank and zero-hours contracts.
- Tracking your fill rates and the money you save the group by filling shifts internally.
What we're looking for
- Recruitment experience, ideally in high-volume, temporary, bank or flexible staffing.
- Someone organised and calm who can juggle lots of live cover requests at once.
- A natural relationship-builder who can keep a large pool of candidates warm and available.
- Confidence with recruitment systems and spreadsheets.
- An understanding of safer recruitment, or the willingness to be fully trained in it.
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and to doing things properly, never cutting corners on compliance.
Early years, education, care or other regulated-sector recruitment experience is a real plus, but we will train the right person on the childcare side.
