Role Purpose

The HR Advisor (Recruitment & Operations) is responsible for delivering a 50/50 split of recruitment activity and HR operational support across both businesses. This is a standalone generalist role, providing day‑to‑day HR administration, supporting managers, and ensuring recruitment and onboarding processes run efficiently and consistently.

The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and confidence working independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Recruitment (50%)

  • Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment process across all departments.
  • Draft and post job adverts in line with hiring manager requirements.
  • Screen and shortlist candidates, including initial telephone interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain a positive candidate experience throughout.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure timely feedback and decision‑making.
  • Manage the offer process, including documentation and pre‑employment checks.
  • Maintain recruitment trackers and support reporting requirements.

HR Operations (50%)

  • Manage the onboarding process following offer acceptance, ensuring all documentation, checks, and induction requirements are completed.
  • Support managers in preparing structured and positive onboarding plans for new joiners.
  • Deliver day‑to‑day HR administration including contract changes, letters, and employee records.
  • Support sickness and absence management, including tracking, reporting, and advising managers on next steps.
  • Maintain accurate HR data for monthly management reporting.
  • Support engagement and culture initiatives across both businesses.
  • Provide general HR guidance to managers and employees, escalating to the external HR consultant where required.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ HR experience, ideally including time in a standalone or small‑team role.
  • Strong recruitment experience with confidence managing end‑to‑end processes.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • Ability to manage a variable workload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with managers and employees.
  • High level of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work independently.

Role Characteristics

  • Standalone generalist position with broad exposure across HR and recruitment.
  • Requires resilience, adaptability, and confidence working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Supported by an external HR consultant for complex or escalated matters.
  • Office‑based role aligned with operational teams to ensure visibility and accessibility.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
