Location: Wandsworth, London (Hybrid – WFH Wednesdays)

Reports to: Creative Director

BearJam is a spirited, award-winning video production company based in London. We produce bold,

powerful video for brands like Netflix, Oracle Red Bull Racing, Just Eat, The FA, and Knight Frank. We thrive

Overview of the Role

We’re looking for a creative, self-starting Self-Shooting Director to join our growing in-house team. This

role offers exposure to a wide range of shoots and productions, from branded content and interviews to

events and social-first video.

You’ll be a key member of the creative team, responding to briefs, developing ideas and concepts, and

working closely with producers and post-production to bring projects to life. You’ll be involved at every

stage of the production cycle - from pitch and pre-production through to filming and final delivery.

Consistently delivering high-quality work is central to this role and essential to our client relationships. In

This role is ideal for a mid-weight Self-Shooting Director looking to step up creatively and take

greater ownership of projects.

Objectives

Self-shoot a wide range of video content including interviews, talking heads, b-roll, events andsocial content

Develop original creative ideas, concepts and treatments in response to briefs

Contribute to scriptwriting and story development

Work closely with the creative, production and post-production teams to deliver projects from

pitch through to final delivery

Manage and maintain camera, sound and lighting kit to a high professional standard

Communicate project progress clearly and proactively within the team

Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and creatively advise on brand-led storytelling

Examples of content include: branded films, vlogs, behind-the-scenes, interviews, event coverage and

social-first video.Who You Are (Skills & Qualities)

Must-Haves:

Proven experience as a self-shooting director or camera operator, either independently or aspart of a crew

A strong track record of creating high-quality video content from planning through to delivery

Excellent storytelling skills with a clear understanding of narrative, pacing and visual

composition

Strong concept, treatment and idea development skills

Comfortable working on high-volume projects with quick turnarounds

Confident shooting video and recording sound to a professional standard

Solid understanding of colour grading and post-production workflows

Highly organised with the ability to manage time, priorities and deadlines effectively

A proactive, collaborative team player with strong communication skills

A minimum of 4 years’ relevant professional experience

Confident using Mac-based hardware and software

Fluent in English

Nice-to-Haves:

Editing experience in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve

Familiarity with Sony FS6 and/or Blackmagic camera systems

Photography experience

Experience experimenting with or applying AI tools in video production
