PART TIME - 4 HOURS MAX PER WEEK

FIXED TERM CONTRACT FROM 15th SEPTEMBER 2026 UP TO END OF MAY 2027

Reed’s School is a fantastic place to work. Teachers and pupils alike flourish in its friendly, supportive, forward-thinking community. It is one of the leading Independent Day and Boarding Schools in the country and is proud to be providing an education for around 850 pupils, including a significant number who are funded by our charitable foundation. The school is all-boys from 11-16 and has a co-educational Sixth Form.

We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic Spanish Language Assistant to deliver conversational lessons both on a one-to-one basis, and small groups of pupils. The candidate appointed will be a native level speaker of Spanish and will help students in the preparation for their speaking exams and develop their cultural knowledge. The candidate will have a desire to be part of a team of committed professionals within the MFL Department.

You will be required to work for 4 hours per week, during lunch time over 3 days a week , term time only. This position is based on an hourly rate commensurate with experience.

The closing date for this vacancy will be midday on Monday 8th of June 2026.

All interested applicants should apply by using the links on the school website.

You must have a valid right to work in UK to be considered for this position.

For Safer Recruitment purposes all applicants must complete a Reed’s School application form. Full details including a job description and application form can be found on our website or alternatively by emailing hr@reeds.surrey.sch.uk

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a completed application as soon as possible. The School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate present themselves.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
