Job description

We are seeking experienced therapeutic practitioners to join our Children’s Home.

We are a small, residential home that provides care and support for young people aged from 8–18 years. The successful applicant will join a team that provides 24-hour care for children who would benefit from a family environment in a safe, long-term home.

Arronbeth’s values and principles of care are based upon a child-centred approach. Child-centred values are the guiding principles that help to put the interests of the child at the centre of everything we do. Arronbeth is looking for an applicant who can help us to achieve this through embodying principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE), while focusing on building relationships through establishing trust and boundaries while also supporting autonomy and choice.

Arronbeth provides a bespoke care service for a child who will benefit from focused one-to-one care and support. No matter what stage of their development, Arronbeth ensures the child is at the centre of their own care plan with their views and wishes considered from the outset. Our team is experienced in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics which was developed to support children who have experienced developmental trauma.

The successful applicant must also consider the neurological needs of how the child experiences their trauma and how the whole system can work at varying levels to help them to repair and recover.

What we will expect from you:

  • At least six months of experience, within the last three years, of working with children or young people either in a voluntary or professional capacity.
  • Experience in contributing to the maintenance of administrative records.
  • Experience with engaging children and young people in specific leisure activities and/or hobbies.
  • The ability to sensitively deal with distress.
  • Capable of taking initiative.
  • To ensure familiarity with Arronbeth’s policies and procedures.
  • Must be dedicated to continual professional development.

What you can expect from us:

  • All the training and support you need to care for our young people and develop your career.
  • A competitive salary - rising with experience and qualifications.
  • A strong and supportive team environment.
  • A caring and nurturing environment that promotes fun and progress while working in accordance with all child care legislation.
  • A staff wellness package that includes therapies such as massage, psychology, reiki, meditation and reflexology (to name a few!).

Notes:

  • This post is subject to an enhanced criminal record check under the arrangements established by the Criminal Records Bureau/Barring Services.
  • Arronbeth is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all of our children and operates strict safer recruitment processes. Arronbeth ’s Safeguarding procedures are written in line with the guidance of the Darlington Safeguarding Partnership.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
