Full job description

Could you be our Captain Wentworth? Georgiana Darcy? Or Edward Ferrars? The Jane Austen Experience in London is seeking Regency Actors to play roles of famous characters to small groups of visitors.

This role is based both inside and outside ('on the door') at The Jane Austen Experience.

The ideal candidate will be infectiously positive and quickly become an integral part of a team of actors, ushers, gift shop assistants and management.

Desired criteria and skills:

- Acting experience in front of live audiences including small to medium sized groups

- Being able to step into character the moment you are in front of the general public, and staying in character throughout your working day

- Providing exemplary customer service and answering any questions you might be asked, while in character, in a professional and appropriate manner

- Have flexibility with working weekends, weekdays, and school holidays

This role is a temporary 6-month contract, part time. Shortlisted candidates will be sent a brief script and asked to audition as part of the interview process.

This role will include:

- Providing entertaining and engaging presentations and monologues

- Actively engaging with visitors using props and touch points in the attraction

- Covering various parts of the attraction, including interactive exhibits, gift shop, and as Meeter Greeter on the door.
