Full job description
This role provides high-quality, senior-level administrative support to the Medical Education team at Basildon Hospital. It is a varied and rewarding position, playing a key part in supporting the education and development of both postgraduate and undergraduate medical trainees.
Key responsibilities include coordinating weekly mandatory teaching programmes, managing applications for clinical placements (including clinical observers, medical careers placements, and elective students), and supporting the wider objectives of the Medical Education department.
You will work closely with a range of stakeholders including the Site Director of Medical Education (DME), Specialty Tutors, Undergraduate Sub-Deans, Senior Educators, Clinical Teaching Fellows, as well as colleagues in medical workforce, finance, partner medical schools, Royal Colleges, and NHS England East of England.
The team also plays a vital role in supporting the continuous professional development of postgraduate doctors in training. Depending on departmental needs, you may be assigned responsibility for a specific portfolio within Medical Education, with duties tailored accordingly. While many core responsibilities are shared across roles, some tasks may be specific to the level of education (undergraduate or postgraduate) that you are supporting.
