Full job description

About The Treatment Rooms London

The Treatment Rooms London is one of the UK's leading specialist hair transplant clinics. Our surgeons are recognised internationally for producing natural, undetectable results and have been featured extensively in television, national newspapers and medical publications.

Everything we do is built around providing patients with honest, evidence-based information and exceptional clinical care. Our website is a key part of that commitment, helping thousands of prospective patients each month understand hair loss, treatment options and hair transplant surgery.

As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking for an exceptional Medical Content Writer to join our team and become responsible for producing the highest quality educational content in our field.

The Role

This is not a standard content writing position.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys researching complex medical topics and transforming them into clear, engaging, trustworthy content that patients can understand.

You will be responsible for researching and writing comprehensive articles covering hair loss, hair transplant surgery and related treatments. Every article must meet our detailed editorial guidelines and maintain the highest standards of factual accuracy, readability and originality.

Quality is always prioritised over quantity.

The successful candidate will work closely with our surgeons and editorial team to ensure every piece of content accurately reflects current medical evidence and the standards expected from one of the UK's leading hair restoration clinics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching medical literature, clinical guidelines and reputable scientific sources.
  • Writing comprehensive, patient-focused articles on hair loss and hair transplant surgery.
  • Producing content that is accurate, engaging, well-structured and written in plain English.
  • Following our detailed content framework and editorial style guide.
  • Revising and improving articles following editorial feedback.
  • Ensuring all factual claims are supported by reliable evidence.
  • Keeping content up to date as new evidence and treatments emerge.
  • Working collaboratively with our surgeons to ensure medical accuracy.
  • Maintaining exceptionally high editorial standards across every article.

Essential Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • An outstanding command of written English.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • The ability to understand and communicate complex medical information accurately.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A genuine interest in medicine, healthcare or science.
  • The ability to accept constructive feedback and continually improve.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

One or more of the following would be advantageous:

  • Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Journalism, English or another relevant subject.
  • Experience writing healthcare or medical content.
  • Experience interpreting scientific papers and clinical research.
  • Knowledge of SEO content writing (while maintaining editorial quality).
  • Familiarity with hair loss treatments or cosmetic surgery.

Our Editorial Standards

We place enormous importance on producing genuinely valuable content for patients.

Applicants should note that:

  • Every article undergoes detailed editorial review.
  • All work is checked for originality and factual accuracy.
  • Articles must follow our comprehensive writing guidelines and editorial processes.
  • Content must be written by the successful applicant and demonstrate original research, critical thinking and excellent writing ability.
  • Applicants will be required to complete a writing assessment during the recruitment process.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Loves writing.
  • Is naturally curious and enjoys learning.
  • Takes pride in producing work of exceptional quality.
  • Notices details that others miss.
  • Wants to become an expert in their subject area.
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative, supportive environment.

This role would suit someone who prefers producing one outstanding article rather than several average ones.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience (£28,000-£35,000)
  • Company pension.
  • Genuine long-term career development.
  • Opportunity to work alongside leading hair transplant surgeons.
  • Mentoring and ongoing editorial training.
  • Supportive and friendly working environment.
  • Flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.

Application Process

Please submit:

  • Your CV.
  • A short covering letter explaining why this role interests you.
  • Examples of previous medical writing (if available).

Shortlisted applicants will complete a writing assessment based on one of our content briefs before interview.

We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to producing the highest quality patient education available online. If you are passionate about writing, enjoy research and take pride in producing exceptional work, we would love to hear from you.
