Full job description

Heywood Electrical & Sons Ltd. are looking for experienced electricians to join an ongoing social housing kitchen rip-out and renewal programme across Manchester.

The role will involve electrical works associated with the removal and replacement of kitchens within occupied social housing properties. Applicants should be comfortable working in domestic environments and dealing professionally with tenants and other trades.

Duties will include:

  • Electrical isolation and disconnection prior to kitchen rip-out
  • Removal and alteration of existing electrical accessories and circuits
  • First-fix wiring for new kitchen layouts
  • Installation and relocation of socket outlets, fused spurs and appliance supplies
  • Cooker and hob supplies where required
  • Alterations to lighting and associated wiring
  • Second-fix installation of accessories
  • Testing and verification of completed electrical works
  • Identifying and reporting existing electrical defects
  • Working alongside kitchen fitters, plumbers and other trades
  • Keeping properties clean, tidy and safe throughout the works

Requirements:

  • Qualified electrician
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification
  • 18th Edition
  • Testing and inspection experience
  • ECS/CSCS card
  • Previous domestic or social housing experience preferred
  • Own tools
  • Full UK driving licence and transport
  • Good standard of workmanship
  • Reliable and able to work to programme
  • Professional manner when working in occupied properties

This is a fast-paced kitchen renewal programme, so we are looking for electricians who are experienced in domestic installation work and can complete properties efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
