Full job description

Demand for our specialist tutoring programmes for Children Looked After, those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) continues to increase and we are seeking an excellent addition to our team to support the increased demand for our provision and to support the continued scaling of our organisation.

The Organisation

Equal Education is a social enterprise working to improve outcomes and narrow the attainment gap for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners, including Children Looked After, those with SEND, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. We have 12 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with hundreds of schools and Local Authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually.

As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 200 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. These tutors provide pastoral care and work with pupils to increase engagement and attainment. Our programmes will help the students to overcome barriers to learning, help them build trusted relationships, increase their aspirations, and fulfil their potential. We are passionate about our cause and are looking for people who are motivated by a strong desire to address educational inequality and improve outcomes.

Role Overview:

The Partnerships Administrator will be an integral part of our Partnerships team, providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team.

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for persuasive writing, as the primary responsibility will involve crafting compelling short-form 'bids' for clients. This role will be particularly focused on bid writing and it is essential that the post-holder has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Partnerships Administrator will also assist with key administrative tasks such as responding to client enquiries, drafting impact data for client reviews, and attending ad-hoc events.

*To be London or Midlands based*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Persuasive Tender Writing
  • Draft High-Quality, Compelling Submissions: Write persuasive, informative, and compliance-driven tenders that successfully secure Equal Education’s place on local authority frameworks and with other key clients.
  • Tailor Content to Client Needs: Analyse tender requirements to articulate deeply customised responses, demonstrating exactly how our services align with the specific goals and required outcomes of each framework.
  • Translate Service Knowledge into Impact: Maintain a comprehensive, detailed understanding of Equal Education’s service offerings to effectively communicate our value proposition and unique educational impact.
  • Maintain Flawless Attention to Detail: Review and refine every proposal with meticulous care, ensuring all bids are accurate, professional, and flawlessly aligned with the strict evaluation criteria.
  • Support Organisational Growth: Take ownership of this critical responsibility to expand our framework reach, directly impacting the number of young people we are able to support and work with.
  • Short Bid/Application Writing:
  • Write effective and persuasive short-form 'bids' tailored to various audiences. This will be a significant part of the role, requiring the ability to write with clarity and impact under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships team to ensure the bids are aligned with and responding to client needs, and organisational goals.
  • Edit and proofread bids to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
  • Use generative AI
  • Client Engagement & Communication:
  • Respond to client calls and emails in a timely and professional manner, ensuring positive and ongoing client relationships.
  • Help draft impact data and reports for client review calls, ensuring the data presented is clear, accurate and impactful.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Assist the wider Partnerships team with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling meetings and supporting the preparation of materials for client engagements.
  • Attend and support ad-hoc events related to partnerships, providing administrative assistance as required.
  • Manage and maintain relevant partnership documentation and records.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional Writing Skills: The successful post holder must have the ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive content. Experience in bid or application writing or similar fields would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust tone and style to different audiences.
  • Experience using Gen AI: Demonstrable experience of using Gen AI tools effectively to enhance written communication and content creation. Time Management: Ability to work at pace and under pressure to meet deadlines, particularly during periods with high volumes of bids.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to writing, editing, and organising documents.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and support a busy team.
  • Proactive and Collaborative: A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work closely with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Previous Experience: Experience in a similar administrative or support role would be advantageous, particularly in an educational or partnership-driven environment.
