About DS Recruitment

DS Recruitment is the UK's only clinician-led permanent recruitment agency, founded by a practising Harley Street doctor. We specialise exclusively in UK private healthcare permanent recruitment — a high-value, relationship-driven niche where quality always wins over volume.

We are growing and looking for an experienced Freelance Business Development Consultant to help us expand our private healthcare client portfolio.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine freelance contract. You work remotely, manage your own time, and earn directly from what you generate. The more you bill, the more you earn.

- £500 per month retainer, paid regardless of placements

- 15% commission on every placement fee you generate

- Placement fees range from £5,000 to £15,000 per hire

- Realistic earnings of £2,000 - £5,000 per month for an active consultant

- No earnings ceiling for strong performers

What You Will Do

- Identify and develop new private healthcare client relationships across the UK

- Generate business through outbound calls, emails and networking

- Build and manage your own client pipeline independently

- Collaborate with our internal team to fulfil roles once clients are won

- Represent DS Recruitment professionally across all candidate and client touchpoints

What We Are Looking For

- 3 or more years of recruitment experience with a strong business development or 360 background

- Proven track record of winning and developing client relationships from scratch

- Self-sufficient and able to generate your own pipeline without close management

- Confident on the phone and comfortable working independently from home

- Existing network in UK private healthcare is a significant advantage

- Previous freelance or self-employed experience is preferred

The Contract

- Engagement type: Self-employed contractor

- Initial term: 3 months, rolling monthly thereafter

- Notice period: 30 days either side

- Outside IR35

- Monthly invoicing for retainer and commission earned
