About SolarSense
SolarSense is an employee-owned business and one of the UK's longest-established renewable energy companies, having designed, installed and maintained more than 20,000 renewable energy systems over the past 30 years.
Due to continued growth in demand for domestic solar PV and battery storage, we are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Project Coordinator to join our Operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving problems and delivering an outstanding customer experience. Whether you already have project coordination experience or are a high-calibre graduate with exceptional organisational skills, full training in the renewable energy sector will be provided.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating multiple domestic solar PV and battery storage installations simultaneously, ensuring every project progresses efficiently from order through to completion.
You will own your projects from order through to completion, becoming the primary point of coordination between customers, installers, suppliers, manufacturers and electricity network operators.
No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where organisation, communication and attention to detail are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of multiple domestic solar PV and battery storage projects from order through to completion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the installation process.
- Monitor project progress against programme and proactively communicate updates to customers.
- Coordinate installation schedules and manage project timelines.
- Arrange scaffolding, deliveries and other third-party services.
- Order materials and equipment from approved suppliers.
- Liaise with installers, suppliers, manufacturers and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
- Prepare and submit DNO applications and supporting documentation.
- Monitor warehouse stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Ensure projects remain compliant with MCS, BS7671 and other industry requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
- Identify potential issues early and coordinate practical solutions to keep projects on schedule.
- Support the continuous improvement of operational processes and customer experience.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively within a busy office environment.
- This is a full-time office-based role. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to our Clevedon office Monday to Friday. Due to the location of our office and the nature of the role, applicants should hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
Desirable
- Experience in project coordination, project administration, logistics or operations.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, solar PV or battery storage.
- Experience working with customers, suppliers or contractors.
- A degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Geography or another STEM discipline.
Previous renewable energy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of £32,000–£35,000, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
- Comprehensive training within the renewable energy sector.
- A genuine opportunity to build a long-term career with one of the UK's most established solar companies.
- Exposure to project delivery, operations, customer management, logistics, procurement and compliance.
- A friendly, supportive and experienced team environment.
- Opportunities for future progression as the business continues to grow.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, SolarSense UK Ltd is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
