About the role

RDL Scientific is recruiting experienced Clinical Research Technicians to join its bank team, supporting the safety and wellbeing of healthy volunteers and patients participating in clinical trials.

Working in a busy early-phase clinical research environment, you will carry out a range of clinical procedures while working alongside experienced research nurses, physicians and the wider multidisciplinary clinical team.

Shift pattern

Applicants must be available to work a minimum of eight weekday shifts (Monday to Friday) per month. Once initial training has been completed, there may also be opportunities to work outside standard hours.

All new starters will complete their induction and training on weekday shifts from 07:30 to 15:30.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor participants using patient monitoring equipment.
  • Record 12-lead ECGs.
  • Collect blood samples by venepuncture.
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of participant care and safety.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical research team.
  • Follow study protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of 12 months’ clinical research experience - for example, as a Clinical Research Support Worker, Research Healthcare Assistant or Clinical Research Assistant - clearly evidenced in your CV.
  • Experience using patient monitoring equipment.
  • Experience recording 12-lead ECGs.
  • Experience collecting blood samples by venepuncture.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Current BLS, ILS or ALS certification.
  • Previous experience in early-phase or commercial clinical research.
