Role Overview

The R&D Assistant will support research, development, and production activities across the sensor manufacturing process. This hands‑on role involves preparing components, conducting testing, maintaining equipment, and ensuring excellent laboratory and production standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare electrodes and sensors for R&D and production activities.
  • Conduct testing on catalysts, R&D sensor prototypes, and archived production sensors.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain test equipment.
  • Interpret test results and produce simple reports on testing carried out
  • Assist with production tasks as required.
  • Follow all Health & Safety rules, particularly when working with machinery and laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard‑free workspace.
  • Dispose of waste and scrap materials in accordance with company waste‑handling procedures.

Skills & Background

  • A‑Level or BTEC in a science‑based subject (required).
  • A degree in a scientific discipline (preferred).
  • Scientific laboratory experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of electronics and/or computer coding (desirable but not essential).
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail.

Pay: £26,000.00-£27,500.00 per year
