Location: Croydon

Salary: £40,000 - £45, 000
Hours: 44 hours per week on a rota basis

This role involves a mix of long days and admin days. Shift patterns include 8:00am – 8:30pm (long days) and 9:00am – 5:00pm (admin days). The rota will include weekends and varying shift patterns, so full flexibility is required.

The Role

We’re looking for a Deputy Care Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of one of our homes. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to build a strong team and deliver high-quality care for up to two children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a small staff team, providing guidance, training, and support
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate and high-quality records
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals and agencies
  • Take a lead in reviews, safeguarding processes, and professional meetings
  • Support Ofsted inspections and uphold regulatory standards
  • Step up to lead in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • Participate in on-call duties across the organisation

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year as a Deputy Manager OR 2 years as a Senior Residential Support Worker within the last 5 years
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Experience of staff supervision
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection processes
  • Solid knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours with resilience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and record-keeping skills
  • Confident in leading reviews and professional meetings
  • Willingness to take part in on-call duties
