Senior Building Surveyor
£51,167 per annum | 35 hours per week
Remote/on the road - ideally based in the Midlands for regular travel across the region | typically 3 days visiting services/sites across the region and 2 days working from home, depending on priorities and workload. Travel expenses and accommodation are covered in line with company policy.

As Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of domestic and healthcare properties across England, combining technical expertise with hands-on project delivery. You’ll have real autonomy to shape maintenance, compliance and capital investment across our national property portfolio.
What you'll do
- Manage your own portfolio, planning and prioritising planned and reactive works.
- Carry out building surveys and pathology inspections, diagnosing defects and recommending solutions.
- Manage PPM schedules, budgets and capital projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure properties meet statutory, regulatory, health & safety and fire safety requirements.
- Manage contractors, monitor performance and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Work closely with Service Managers and Maintenance Coordinators to deliver high-quality property services.
- Build strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.
Skills/Experience required
- Chartered Building Surveyor Property: MRICS or MCIOB
- Experience managing multiple sites and projects, ideally in housing, social care or healthcare, but not essential
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, statutory compliance, CDM and health & safety.
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.
- Good Excel and digital systems skills.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, with the confidence to work independently.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
