Overview

Mainly daytime shifts, busy town centre independent.

Breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea. Functions, outside catering.

Worked over 5 or 6 days including saturdays. Generally closed Sundays
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, developing innovative menus, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service delivery
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
  • Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Develop and implement creative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to guest preferences
  • Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain accurate documentation for health inspections
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and optimise guest satisfaction
  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through effective stock management

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
  • Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent team management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
  • Experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings is highly desirable
  • Strong skills in cooking techniques, menu development, and food presentation
