ABOUT COASTAL TRAIL

Coastal Trail is a relaxed, welcoming café inspired by Dartmouth’s beautiful coastline and outdoor lifestyle. It’s a place where locals, walkers, cyclists and visitors stop to recharge, enjoy great coffee and take a moment to slow down.

Our café is built around quality coffee, fresh food and friendly service. We pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere that feels easy-going, energetic and genuinely welcoming. Whether someone is grabbing a takeaway coffee before a coastal walk or settling in with friends, every guest should feel looked after from the moment they arrive.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Barista to join the team and help deliver the warm, welcoming experience that defines Coastal Trail.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Barista at Coastal Trail, you’ll play a central role in the daily energy of the café. From preparing great coffee to creating a friendly atmosphere for guests, you’ll help ensure every visit feels relaxed, enjoyable and memorable.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in making quality drinks and thrives in a busy café environment.

You’ll work closely with the wider team to keep service running smoothly while maintaining the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere our guests love.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

• Preparing and serving high-quality coffee, teas and drinks to a consistent standard
• Welcoming guests with a friendly and positive approach
• Taking food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
• Serving food and beverages while maintaining presentation and quality
• Supporting the team to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation across the coffee station and café areas
• Handling payments and operating the till accurately
• Supporting with café preparation, clearing tables and resetting guest areas
• Upholding Coastal Trail’s standards of hospitality, quality and atmosphere

ABOUT YOU

To thrive in this role, you’ll likely have:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a café or hospitality environment (preferred but not essential)
• A friendly, approachable and positive personality
• A genuine passion for coffee and great customer service
• The ability to stay calm and organised during busy periods
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• A willingness to learn, develop your skills and grow within the team
