Senior Assistant General Manager

Are you an experienced Assistant General Manager ready for the next step, or a General Manager looking for a hands-on leadership role within a flagship hospitality operation?

The West Park Hotel is seeking an exceptional Senior Assistant General Manager to work alongside and deputise for the General Manager in leading one of the region's most prestigious multi-unit hospitality businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role across a thriving hotel, restaurant, bar, events, and private dining operation.

About the Role

As Senior Assistant General Manager, you will be the General Manager's trusted second-in-command, helping to drive operational excellence, financial performance, team engagement, and exceptional guest experiences throughout the business.

This is a highly visible leadership role with significant responsibility and autonomy, making it ideal for an ambitious hospitality professional looking to further develop their career within a flagship site.

You will work across all aspects of the operation, including:

  • Hotel operations and guest experience
  • Restaurant, bar, and food & beverage service
  • Private dining and events
  • Team leadership, development, and succession planning
  • Commercial and financial performance
  • Health, safety, and compliance

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the General Manager and lead the business in their absence.
  • Support the delivery of sales, profit, and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop department managers and teams across both hotel and F&B operations.
  • Drive exceptional service standards and operational consistency throughout the business.
  • Monitor labour costs, purchasing, stock management, and departmental profitability.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, licensing, and employment legislation.
  • Help develop and execute commercial initiatives that grow revenue and enhance the guest experience.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and local stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience as an Assistant General Manager, Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, Restaurant Manager, or General Manager within a quality-driven hospitality business.
  • Has a proven track record of managing both food & beverage and hotel operations.
  • Is commercially aware and comfortable managing budgets, KPIs, labour controls, and financial performance.
  • Is a confident leader who inspires, coaches, and develops high-performing teams.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-department environment.
  • Possesses excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Is passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Has the ambition and capability to progress within a growing hospitality group.
