Overview

Join our dedicated care team as a Care Home Cook, where your culinary skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious meals that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences. Your passion for food preparation and commitment to food safety will help create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel cared for and valued. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook balanced, appetizing meals tailored to residents’ dietary requirements and preferences
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
  • Plan menus that incorporate variety, nutrition, and seasonal ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
  • Assist with serving meals to residents in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock to minimize waste
  • Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe kitchen environment at all times

Experience

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a care home, restaurant, or similar setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Experience with meal planning and catering to special dietary needs such as vegetarian, gluten-free, or low-sodium diets
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment, utensils, and food storage techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
  • Previous experience serving or assisting in a hospitality environment is advantageous

Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 1.30pm
