Waiting Staff

Job Summary

Browns Sheffield is looking for friendly, attentive and reliable Waiting Staff to join its front-of-house team. The successful candidate will welcome guests, take food and drink orders, provide professional table service, and help create a positive dining experience while maintaining high standards of customer care.

  • Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating when required.
  • Present menus and answer questions about food and drinks using accurate menu information.
  • Take food and beverage orders carefully and enter them into the appropriate ordering system.
  • Communicate orders and special requests clearly to kitchen and bar colleagues.
  • Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally.
  • Check that orders reach the correct tables and meet customer requests.
  • Prepare tables before service and clear them after guests finish dining.
  • Maintain clean, tidy and presentable dining and service areas.
  • Handle customer payments accurately using the designated till system.
  • Respond politely to customer questions and refer complaints to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Check ingredient and allergen information with the appropriate team member rather than guessing.
  • Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and workplace cleanliness procedures.
  • Replenish cutlery, glassware, napkins and other service supplies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain efficient service during busy periods.
  • Assist with opening, closing and other reasonable restaurant duties as required.

  • Good attention to detail when taking and delivering orders.
  • Ability to stay organised in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Professional and positive attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • Willingness to learn menu details and restaurant service procedures.
  • Previous waiting, restaurant or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Reliable timekeeping and a responsible approach to work.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, where required.

Pay: £15.00-£28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
