Chef – Job Description

We are looking for an organised, hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering great food and great service to the public to join our team at Healthy Eaters, a family-run restaurant based in the heart of Brixton for the last 22 years.

Principal Duties

  • Work closely with the Manager on menu planning, including determining quantities, assisting with ordering, purchasing, stock control, and stock taking.
  • Oversee and support kitchen staff, including supervision, mentoring, and training.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of all food products.
  • Take responsibility for all duties required for the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of flavour, texture, presentation, and product quality.
  • Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure product availability and service requirements are met.
  • Follow all recipes, cooking methods, policies, and procedures as set by the Manager.
  • Ensure all food hygiene practices, health & safety regulations, and documentation requirements are met and maintained.
  • Undertake any additional duties that may arise within the general scope of the role.
