Restaurant Deputy Manager jobs in London

We are looking for an experienced and professional Deputy Manager to join our team and support the day-to-day running of the restaurant. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will help lead the team, maintain operational standards, improve performance, and ensure excellent customer service.

We are a very busy restaurant, so we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to work efficiently under pressure, stay organised during busy service, and maintain high standards at all times.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant
• Identify and improve underperforming areas to help take the restaurant to the next level as we continue to grow
• Oversee and supervise Front of House operations with a hands-on leadership approach
• Support key administrative functions, including basic HR tasks, payroll coordination, and managing delivery platforms
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, training, and onboarding of new team members
• Maintain accurate operational logs and monitor financial performance
• Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination
• Ensure the restaurant consistently meets all health and safety and operational standards
• Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally
• Lead by example and support the team during busy services
• Motivate, guide, and hold team members accountable to maintain consistently high service standards
• Step up and take responsibility for the restaurant in the Restaurant Manager's absence

Ideal Candidate Will Have

• At least 3 years' experience in n a supervisory or management position in a busy, high-volume restaurant
• One or more references from previous employers
• Strong character with an open mind, clear vision, and business focus
• A hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A strict but fair leadership style, being respectful, consistent, and confident
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate expectations to the team
• The confidence to lead a team and make decisions during busy service
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak periods
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
