Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Restaurant / Bar / Coffee Shop Barista to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting food and beverage preparation, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all patrons. The ideal candidate will be organised, attentive to detail, and passionate about delivering a high standard of service in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in food service or barista roles is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring presentation standards are maintained
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as required, adhering to food safety standards
  • Operate coffee machines and other relevant equipment efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
  • Restock supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained throughout shifts
  • Provide information about menu items and make recommendations to customers
  • Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the establishment

Requirements

  • Previous barista experience or serving experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks safely and efficiently
  • Good organisational skills with strong time management abilities
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling cash and processing payments
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment under pressure
  • Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
