Full job description

If your happiest place is a full dining room on a Friday night hosting, reading the floor, keeping the pass and the bar moving and your idea of a bad day is being stuck in an office, we should talk.

The Crusoe is a busy, food-led pub with rooms on the Fife coast at Lower Largo great plates, a proper bar, bedrooms above and a loyal local following. We're looking for a General Manager to run it as their own: someone who leads from the floor, lives and breathes food and drink, and builds a team that wants to be there.

Let's be clear about this job. It is not a spreadsheet-first role. Yes, you'll own the numbers - but you'll own them by running a brilliant, busy site, not by hiding behind a desk. This is about food, drink, looking after guests, and team morale-built shift by shift. If that's you, read on.

What you'll do

· Host every service. Be visible and on the floor, set the pace, and fix problems before the guest ever feels them.

· Lead from the front. Your team copies what you do — if you're on the floor, so is everyone else. You build the morale and hold the standard.

· Love the food and drink. Work hand in hand with the Head Chef, know the menu inside out, and care about every plate and every pint that's poured.

· Run a full, happy room. Drive covers, spend per head and the guest experience through great hosting and a well-run floor and bar.

· Look after the rooms and the building. Keep the bedrooms, cellar and premises to standard so guests want to come back.

· Own the result. Sales, margins, wage cost and profit – owned the right way, by running a tight, busy, well-led site.

Who you are

· A hospitality person to the core who genuinely loves the trade and the buzz of a full house.

· Experienced running a busy food-led pub, restaurant or pub with rooms.

· A leader by example who builds team morale, keeps people together, and gets the best out of a kitchen and a floor.

· Obsessive about quality food, drink and service and about the guest going home happy.

· Commercially savvy, with the skill set to drive the P&L in the right direction.

· A personal licence holder (or working towards one) with a good grasp of licensing - an advantage.

What we offer

· A genuinely independent site to run as your own, with the backing of a small, hands-on senior management team that knows and loves food.

· Competitive salary package of up to £50,000, plus quarterly bonus.
