Full job description

In the wilds of North Devon, we work from farm to glass. Our cocktail menus are based on the season and what is growing on our own 150 acre farm, and what can be foraged from forest to coast. The Farmers Arms is a MICHELIN recognized restaurant and we won Visit England's Pub of the Year in 2025.

Check us out on www.woolsery.com

We are looking for a strong, experienced Bar Manager to join our team at The Farmers Arms in Woolsery, North Devon. Our food and drink ethos is a hyper-local British flavour profile. We are part of The Collective at Woolsery, which includes the pub and Birch Farm, as well as our One MICHELIN Key rated hotel, J Andrew Shop and Woolsery Fish and Chips.

Our menu is all fresh and made in house, along with our drinks program of seasonal cocktails, local ales and amazing wines. We need someone creative, driven and organized. You need to fit in with our casual, rural, "locals" vibe, but also have the wine knowledge to set up pairings to our five-course Birch Farm Tasting Menu, then throw on some wellies and forage the hedgerows!

The role will require the following;

  • Flexibility with hours, to cover lunch and dinner service, including weekends
  • Ability to cover in all positions; bar and floor service and assist the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ability to lead a team, with clear communication and excellent attitude
  • Strong administration skills and the ability to work with our reservations, wage tracking and stock programs.
  • You will be creating and developing our in house drinks program, sourcing new spirits, beers and wines and managing the production of our cordials, house infused spirits and bar ingredients
  • Ordering, stock, wastage and cellar control
  • Shift patterns are 4 days on, three days off

You need to have an absolute passion for hospitality, drinks and customer service.
