Main purpose of job

This position is to support the operations team to ensure excavation and reinstatement works are completed safely and in a timely and efficient manner to fulfil customer commitments and expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

This role is varied and requires flexibility to undertake additional duties as required, the role and responsibilities will include;

  • Picking and preparing plant, tools and materials for collection or delivery, in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Loading and unloading vehicles;
  • Drive vehicles and carry out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, including routine maintenance (e.g. oil, water checks) and cleaning;
  • Ensuring that the yard is always kept tidy, that stock is clearly identifiable and low stock levels highlighted to management where necessary;
  • Operate plant, machinery and tools only if you are trained to do so in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Ensuring that systems and paperwork are used at all times to actively safeguard against loss, damage or theft of goods or company property by being security conscious;
  • Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public;
  • Report near misses;
  • Follow company policies and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when relevant;
  • Promote a positive image of the company.

Essential skills/qualifications

  • Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role;
  • Driving licence category C1 or above
  • Abrasive Wheels;
  • Asbestos Awareness;
  • Face Fit;
  • First Aid
  • Forklift;
  • Manual Handling;
  • Vehicle Marshal
  • A methodical approach to processes;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of their role within the business and demonstrate that they will undertake it accurately and diligently;
  • An enthusiastic and proactive attitude, must be reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships.

Desirable skills/qualifications

  • Previous experience working in the waste water industry and product knowledge;
  • Streetworks O1 Signing, Lighting and Guarding.

Pay: From £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 per week
