Harry’s, a well-established, fun and friendly restaurant located in the heart of Exeter is on the search for KP to join our team.

The Restaurant

Harry’s Restaurant has established itself to become the go-to dining den on the neighbourhood food scene; a friendly and vibrant restaurant serving quality, honest food at affordable prices. We constantly strive to bring the best possible produce to the table. We are thrilled to work with some fantastic local suppliers. We have a exceedingly good cocktail menu and wine list too. For larger parties and private events, our intimate function room is perfect for the occasion.

The Job

30 hours a week available. Immediate start preferred. As a kitchen porter you’ll help to keep the kitchen running smoothly by making sure everything is clean, tidy, safe and hygienic. Your duties will include: - unloading deliveries of food to the kitchen - organising the storeroom - collecting and washing pots, pans, plates and cutlery - getting pots, pans plates and cutlery back into use as quickly as possible - washing and disinfecting kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls - making sure kitchen equipment is properly stored - removing and recycling waste from the kitchen. - basic food preparation. At peak times we’ll comfortably cater for up to 160 covers. You’ll be expected to operate at an exceptional standard and produce outstanding results. We operate at high volume and will frequently be at full capacity; conferences, private functions and parties are common too as we also host separate event space within the building. You’ll thrive in a busy and fast paced kitchen and will be a real team player.

The Applicant

Would suit someone looking to further their kitchen skills with a view to future progression within the kitchen. The role is very hands-on and cleanliness is essential. You’ll easily be able to prioritise and work well under pressure, whilst maintaining an even temperament at all times. You will be highly motivated and have a great working attitude. Previous KP or kitchen experience would be beneficial. Previous experience in a similar role within a similar operation (Grill/Steak House/Mexican/high volume) would also be beneficial. Organisational skills are essential. The role would suit a people person and you’ll enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.
