Full job description

Lakeside Hotel & Spa on the Southern shores of Windermere (1 mile from Newby Bridge) is owned by Classic Lodges. We have 83 luxury bedrooms, fine dining restaurant, brasserie, pool, spa and conference suite ‘overlooking nothing but the lake’.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales & Events Coordinator to join our in-house Sales team at Lakeside Hotel.

This is a dynamic, customer-focused and commercially driven role where you’ll be responsible for generating new business, converting enquiries, and coordinating weddings, celebrations and events from the initial enquiry through to the event itself.

You’ll be at the heart of the guest journey, building relationships with prospective and confirmed clients, showcasing our beautiful venue, following up sales opportunities, and ensuring every detail is managed to deliver an exceptional experience.

As well as responding to incoming enquiries, you’ll take a proactive approach to outbound sales, identifying opportunities, following up warm leads, re-engaging previous enquiries and actively promoting Lakeside Hotel as a destination for weddings, celebrations, meetings and events.

Working closely with the wider hotel teams, you’ll help maximise revenue and occupancy while ensuring every client receives a personal, professional and memorable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing telephone and email enquiries, proactively following up leads and converting opportunities into confirmed bookings.

Generating new business through outbound calls, emails, re-engaging past enquiries and actively promoting weddings, celebrations, meetings and events.

Conducting engaging sales show rounds, showcasing the hotel and tailoring the experience to prospective clients.

Building strong client relationships, understanding requirements and maximising opportunities to upsell and increase event revenue.

Coordinating bookings from initial enquiry through to the event, ensuring all systems, diaries, CRM records and correspondence are accurate and up to date.

Working closely with the wider hotel teams to ensure the planning and delivery of events.

Supporting and hosting weddings and events on the day, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail throughout.

Promoting the hotel through open days, exhibitions, networking, local partnerships and other sales and marketing opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:

A friendly, confident and professional personality with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

A natural and proactive approach to sales, with confidence in outbound calling, lead generation and converting enquiries into bookings.

Strong commercial awareness and a motivation to achieve sales targets and maximise revenue.

Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and events.

A genuine passion for hospitality, customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.

Good IT literacy, including experience with systems such as Rezlynx, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

The ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute positively to a wider team.

Previous experience in hospitality, sales, weddings or events is desirable.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.

Benefits that we offer

Generous employee discounts, including 25% off food and drink, plus friends and family discounts

Wellbeing support through our partnership with Hospitality Action, offering free, confidential advice and resources as well as retail discounts

Free uniform for Front of House team members

Complimentary meals on shift

Employee of the Quarter, with a £100 award

Long service awards, including an invitation to the Classic Lodges Awards Ceremony

Complimentary use of pool and spa facilities (where available at your hotel)
