Position Title: Food Service Team Member
Reports To: Food & Beverage Supervisor - Duty Manager - Hotel Manager
Shift:7.30 / 8am - 3.30pm/4pm / 3pm-10.30 pm

Job Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Breakfast / Lunch and Dinner team member to join our restaurant and bar team at this busy hotel. This position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to handle a fast-paced environment, and a passion for providing guests with an exceptional dining experience. As the first point of contact for many guests in the morning, you will set the tone for their day and contribute to the hotel’s reputation for quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests to the breakfast / Lunch / Dinner areas, show them to their tables, and provide menus.
  • Order Taking and Service: Accurately take food and drink orders, ensuring that all guest requests are noted and fulfilled. Deliver orders promptly and efficiently, maintaining a positive attitude throughout the interaction.
  • Menu Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about the breakfast and lunch menu offerings, daily specials, and dietary restrictions to help guests make informed decisions.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service by being attentive, addressing any concerns, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Assist guests with any special requests and make recommendations as needed.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure tables are set and cleaned before and after each use. Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including clearing dishes, refilling beverages, and resetting tables for incoming guests.
  • Cash and Payment Handling: Process guest payments accurately, including handling cash, credit cards, and room charges in a polite and professional manner.
  • Collaboration with Kitchen and Bar Staff: Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders. Coordinate with bar staff to serve drinks efficiently.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety Standards: Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including food handling practices and cleanliness of the dining area.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, particularly during busy breakfast and lunch hours.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift trays or plates of food as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hotel or restaurant food service.
  • Knowledge of POS systems for order entry and payment processing.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dining area for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, and squat as needed.
