Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in a vibrant hospitality environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff in food preparation and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary field within a restaurant setting. 20 hrs per week evenings and week ends.

Duties

  • Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and equipment is properly stored.
  • Help with the washing up of dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to ensure a smooth workflow in the kitchen.
  • Support the team during service by preparing garnishes, assembling plates, and ensuring timely delivery of food items.
  • Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to senior kitchen staff.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all kitchen personnel.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key.
  • A basic understanding of food preparation techniques and safety standards within a hospitality setting.
