About us

The Old Liquor Store Restaurant / Cafe / Bar is now hiring for a full time kitchen assistant / kitchen porter. The building is part of the old Terrys Chocolate Factory and is grade 2 listed and full of character.

You will be working with a top team with a ton of experience in Michelin level kitchens, smart dining, wine and bringing a huge amount of passion to what they do.

The Old Liquor Store is a small business in York. We are professional, agile and fun.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant / KP to join our team and help with the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and sanitising the kitchen, prepping ingredients, stocking supplies, and helping with food preparation. Using the commercial pass through dishwasher and keeping all the pots and pans spick and span.The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and an eye for detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Organise and store food supplies in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of food items.
  • Help to maintain the kitchen inventory and stock levels.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.21-£13.21 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
