Sushi Chef / Kiosk Team Member – YO! Sushi

Location: Tesco, Shrewsbury
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.71 - £13.02 per hour
Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable team member to join our YO! Sushi kiosk at Tesco Shrewsbury.

Previous sushi or food preparation experience is preferred. We are particularly interested in people who are eager to learn, willing to develop new skills and able to adapt quickly in a busy working environment.

Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh sushi and other YO! Sushi products following recipes and training.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
  • Keep the kiosk and preparation areas clean and organised.
  • Check and maintain stock levels.
  • Help minimise food waste.
  • Complete required food safety and cleaning checks.
  • Work efficiently during busy periods.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service.
  • Work closely with other members of the kiosk team.
  • Be willing to learn new preparation techniques and follow company procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Must be aged 18 or over.
  • Previous sushi, kitchen or food preparation experience is preferred.
  • A genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual and responsible.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable following recipes, instructions and food safety procedures.
  • Flexible to work weekends and varying shifts.
