Weekend Café Chef – Saturday/Sunday Cover

Independent Café – Ditchling, East Sussex

From £13 per hour upwards depending on experience.

Part-time | Irregular hours | Weekend cover potentially more days

An independent café in Ditchling is looking for an experienced and reliable chef to provide flexible weekend cover.

Shifts will be offered on Saturdays and/or Sundays depending on requirements and availability. This is an irregular-hours role rather than a fixed weekly shift.

Typical hours: 8am–4pm.

No evenings or late-night finishes.

The role involves preparing and cooking a café-style breakfast and lunch menu and confidently managing the kitchen during service. Baking quiches, flapjacks, brownies, scones etc. Making soups and salads

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous professional kitchen experience
  • Is confident with breakfast and lunch service
  • Can work independently
  • Is organised and calm during busy periods
  • Has good food hygiene and allergen awareness
  • Is reliable and punctual

This could particularly suit an experienced chef already working elsewhere who would like additional flexible weekend hours.

Pay: from £12.71/hour + 12.07% rolled-up holiday pay (approximately £14.24/hour including holiday pay).
