About the Role

Wild izakaya is launching an exciting new Japanese concept — and we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Japanese Cuisine Experience to join our sushi chef and kitchen chef team. You'll be hands-on in preparing high-quality sushi, sashimi, and speciality rolls, hot dish Tenpura playing a key part in delivering a premium dining experience in our beautifully refurbished restaurant.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare sushi, sashimi, and hot dish to a high standard
  • Ensure freshness, presentation, and food hygiene are consistently excellent
  • Support the Japanese chef Sous Chef and Head Chef in smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient sushi station and hot station
  • Follow food safety protocols at all times
  • Help create a positive, energetic kitchen environment
  • Share knowledge and learn from senior chefs as you grow in your role

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sushi preparation and hot kitchen chef Japanese cuisine
  • Confident knife skills and a good eye for detail
  • Solid understanding of food hygiene and safe fish handling
  • A calm, reliable approach in a fast-paced environment
