Key elements of your role as a Maitre D:

  • Deliver an exceptional guest welcome and departure experience
  • Manage reservations,walk-ins and table allocation to optimise covers and guest flow
  • Build strong relationships with regular and VIP guests,delivering personalised service
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally and promptly
  • Lead and support the reception and hosting team,ensuring brand and service standards are met
  • Work closely with management,reservations and wider team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor guest journey,restaurant pace and service flow,adjusting as required.
  • Support team training and development,leading by example at all times.
  • Uphold The Ivy Collection’s brand,health & safety and compliance standards.
  • Represent the brand with confidence and professionalism during busy services and events.


About you:

  • Proven experience as a Maître D’,Head Host or senior guest-facing professional in a premium,high-volume environment.
  • Excellent guest relations and communication skills,with a natural ability to create a warm,confident and personalised welcome.
  • Confident managing reservations,guest flow and table planning in a fast-paced restaurant.
  • Experience leading,coaching or supporting reception and hosting teams.
  • Calm,polished and solutions-focused under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail,presentation and professional standards.
  • Commercially aware,with an understanding of maximising covers while protecting the guest experience.
  • Confident handling guest feedback and resolving concerns with discretion.
  • Flexible and adaptable,with availability to work evenings,weekends and key trading periods.
