The Potted Lobster in Bamburgh is a renowned coastal restaurant celebrated for its fresh, locally sourced seafood, relaxed atmosphere, and outstanding service. Situated in one of Northumberland’s most iconic villages, we pride ourselves on delivering a memorable dining experience to both locals and visitors alike. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Restaurant Manager to support our General Manager and help take the restaurant to the next level.

The Role:

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, lead the front-of-house team, and ensure the highest levels of customer service. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for excellence while helping to implement new ideas to improve service and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations
  • Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional service
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day service during lunch and dinner shifts
  • Assist with scheduling, stock control, ordering, and supplier management
  • Deal with customer feedback and resolve any issues professionally
  • Help implement new systems or procedures to improve efficiency and service
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and compliance
  • Ensure the business remains fully compliant with all health and safety regulations, including maintaining up-to-date records and making sure all staff receive the necessary training and certifications.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role in hospitality
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example
  • Passionate about great food, drink, and customer service
  • Organised, reliable, and able to stay calm under pressure
  • Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
