Restaurant Manager – One Steakhouse & Lounge

One Steakhouse & Lounge is a premium dining destination in Hull, offering exceptional steaks, expertly crafted dishes, fine wines, cocktails, and an elegant lounge atmosphere. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and driven Restaurant Manager to lead our team and maintain the high standards that define One Steakhouse & Lounge.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the overall management and success of the restaurant and lounge. The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, possess strong operational and leadership skills, and have a proven track record of managing high-volume, premium dining establishments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of One Steakhouse & Lounge.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop front-of-house, bar, and supervisory teams.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and professionalism.
  • Manage staff rotas, labour costs, recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor stock levels, ordering, inventory control, and supplier relationships.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, health and safety, licensing, and company procedures.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Support the planning and delivery of private events, special occasions, and promotional activities.
  • Maintain a positive working culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Restaurant Manager within a premium restaurant, steakhouse, grill, or hospitality venue.
  • Proven experience managing busy restaurant operations and large teams.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality operations.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
  • Experience with stock control, budgeting, labour management, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a steakhouse, fine dining, or premium casual dining environment.
  • Wine, cocktail, and lounge/bar management knowledge.
  • Experience hosting private dining events and functions.
  • Strong understanding of local hospitality markets and customer expectations.
