We are looking for an experienced, hands on Finance Manager to take responsibility for the day to day financial management of our busy, growing multi site hospitality group.

This is a varied and important role overseeing the finances of several hospitality businesses. The successful candidate must have previously managed the accounts function for a business and be confident producing accurate management information.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing monthly profit and loss accounts for each individual site
  • Preparing clear financial reports for the directors
  • Overseeing payroll to ensure weekly and monthly payroll is accurately completed and paid on time
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Managing purchase and sales ledgers
  • Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitoring cash flow across the group
  • Managing supplier payments and customer accounts
  • Monitoring costs, margins and financial performance across all sites
  • Identifying overspending, discrepancies and opportunities to improve profitability
  • Ensuring financial records are accurate, complete and up to date
  • Maintaining appropriate financial controls and procedures
  • Supporting site managers with budgets, wage costs and financial queries
  • Liaising with our external accountants, HMRC, pension providers and other professional advisers
  • Preparing year end information for the accountants
  • Ensuring all payroll, pension, VAT and financial deadlines are met
  • Supporting the directors with financial planning and business decisions

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience running or taking significant responsibility for the accounts function within a business
  • Be able to produce full monthly management accounts and profit and loss reports
  • Have practical experience preparing VAT returns
  • Have strong payroll experience, including both weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Be confident managing the finances of several companies
  • Have excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Be organised, commercially aware and able to meet strict deadlines
  • Be confident questioning figures and highlighting problems
  • Be able to explain financial information clearly to non finance managers
  • Be discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential information
  • Be comfortable working in a fast paced, owner led business

Experience within hospitality, retail, food production or another multi site business would be highly advantageous.

An AAT qualification would be welcomed but is not essential. We equally welcome applications from candidates with substantial hands on experience managing a complete accounts function.

This role would suit an experienced Finance Manager who enjoys being involved in the detail, takes ownership of their work and wants to play an important part in the continued development of a successful and growing hospitality group.
