Front of House Manager

The Plough Inn, Marsham

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Front of House Manager to join our team and help lead our busy restaurant and bar operation.

Working closely with our Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for leading the front-of-house team, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and creating a positive and professional working environment. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate staff, hold team members accountable, and ensure procedures and service standards are consistently followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the front-of-house team during lunch, dinner, and event services.
  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and consistent standards throughout the business.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every guest receives a warm and professional experience.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to maintain high service standards.
  • Ensure all staff follow company procedures, service standards, and operational policies.
  • Manage staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and address issues promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct team briefings and maintain clear communication across all departments.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Front of House Manager, Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, or similar hospitality management role.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Ability to motivate, organise, and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • High standards of professionalism, appearance, and customer care.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
