From busy restaurant service to conferences, weddings, festivals, and themed events — no two days are the same.
We are looking for someone who can bring steadiness and optimisation to the restaurant, to enable us to take our events calendar to the next level. We are now in a phase of actively building the capacity, standards, and identity of the business. We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.
The Opportunity
This is a role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety, and wants to build, improve, and lead — not just maintain.
You will:
- Take full ownership of The Quicken Tree Bar & Grill
- Support in planning and coordinating events across the site
- Help drive efficiency, cohesion, and high standards across multiple spaces.
This includes key trading periods such as Easter events, summer festivals, and large-scale bookings.
Key Objectives
- Deliver exceptional day-to-day restaurant service and guest experience
- Maintain high standards of food, service, and presentation
- Lead, develop, and motivate the front-of-house team
- Drive revenue and maximise profitability
- Improve operational efficiency, team cohesion, and consistency of standards
- Support and coordinate the successful delivery of events across the venue
Restaurant Operations (Primary Focus):
- Oversee daily operations of The Quicken Tree Bar & Grill
- Ensure consistently high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation
- Manage reservations, seating plans, and guest flow to maximise covers and revenue
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless front and back of house coordination
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, and cost control
Support duties:
- Assist in the delivery of conferences, banqueting, and events across the venue
- Support event setup, service, and coordination when required
- Work collaboratively with the events team to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Help ensure staffing levels and service standards are maintained during events
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of seasonal and large-scale events
- Act as a key link between restaurant, kitchen, and events teams
Team Leadership & Management
- Recruit, train, and develop front-of-house team members
- Create and manage staff rotas in line with business needs and event schedules
- Lead by example to deliver high standards of service
- Conduct team briefings and maintain clear communication
Customer Experience
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for all guests
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints effectively
- Build relationships with regular guests and corporate clients
Financial Performance
- Support achieving revenue targets through upselling and service excellence
- Control costs and minimise wastage
- Monitor performance and contribute to business growth initiatives
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Carry out risk assessments where required
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-site environment
- Commercial awareness and understanding of cost control
- Experience with systems such as Rezlynx or ResDiary (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (due to rural location)
