FORGE Warehouse General Manager Position

About FORGE:
FORGE Warehouse is a rapidly growing venue in Sheffield, awarded the 'Best Club' at the Sheffield Exposed Awards 2024 and shortlisted for 'Best Club' in the DJ Mag 'Best of British' Awards 2025. We are currently hosting mainly club nights and day events throughout the Summer, predominantly focused on electronic music. We are however currently working hard on expanding into other areas such as live music, comedy and food. We are looking for someone to come on board and help us as we grow and develop. Join our small team and be part of an exciting new business with significant growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup and Breakdown: Liaise and manage the setup for each event, including set up of DJ equipment, stages, visual affects and other necessary installations. Ensure efficient breakdown after events. Basic experience in setting up audio equipment such as DJ equipment is desired, but not essential.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and develop staff to ensure a high level of performance and customer service. Schedule and manage staff for events.
  • Stock Management: Work with staff to maintain inventory of all necessary supplies, including beverages, equipment, and cleaning materials. Ensure timely restocking and manage inventory discrepancies.
  • Financial Management: Handle petty cash, floats, and cashing up post event. Send off payroll to accounts and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the venue adheres to all health and safety regulations, including public and employer safety standards. Conduct regular safety checks and training sessions where needed and record data.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, industry regulations & the venue licence.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Assist in managing and booking maintenance work to ensure the venue is always in top condition.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Be prepared for some unsociable hours, including weekends and long shifts. However, we offer flexible working hours outside of events and during the week when we have less events.
  • Independent Event Management: Work towards independently managing events, allowing the owners to be less involved during events.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a venue management or general management role is essential.
  • Skills: Strong organisational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Personal Attributes: Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability: Flexible availability, including late nights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to work long hours as needed.
  • Full UK driving licence: Required
