Food and Beverage Manager

(Luxury Members’ Club & Events Venue)

About us

The Colony HQ is a luxury business members’ club and events venue based in Wilmslow, Cheshire. By day, we operate as a refined co-working environment with meeting rooms and a premium bar offering. By night and at weekends, The Colony transforms into an exclusive private events space for a discerning professional audience.

We exist to deliver next-level experiences — the kind members actively choose to repeat. Detail, atmosphere, service and innovation sit at the heart of everything we do.

Our culture is built around attracting exceptional people and giving them genuine scope to shape, lead and elevate what we offer.

The role

We are now seeking an experienced, commercially minded hospitality leader to take ownership of front-of-house, bar operations, events delivery, and food offering.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who enjoys setting standards, leading from the front, and turning ideas into profitable, scalable realities.

Key responsibilities

Member experience & service leadership

  • Set and uphold luxury service standards across all member and guest touchpoints
  • Deliver consistently outstanding experiences with an effortless, polished style
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with members and key clients
  • Act as a visible ambassador for The Colony HQ brand

Bar & commercial operations

  • Full ownership of bar operations including POS, stock control, ordering, margins and supplier relationships
  • Drive revenue growth through upselling, curated menus, promotions and new ideas
  • Ensure immaculate presentation, cleanliness and operational discipline at all times
  • Work closely with the Finance and Events teams to optimise profitability

Innovative bar-led food concept (key part of the role)
You will implement and lead a new food offering that:

  • Is prepared by trained bar staff, not reliant on an onsite chef
  • Focuses on high-quality, well-curated, easy-to-execute items such as:
  • Premium sandwiches & wraps
  • Toasted paninis
  • Fresh salads
  • Meat & cheese boards
  • Elegant sharing plates
  • Balances luxury presentation with operational efficiency and strong margins

You will:

  • Help curate the menu concept in line with The Colony brand
  • Create clear prep systems, portioning, presentation and training guides
  • Train bar staff to confidently and consistently deliver the offering
  • Ensure all food standards, allergen controls and H&S compliance are met
  • Continually refine the offer based on member feedback and performance

Events & cross-department leadership

  • Play a senior role in the planning and execution of high-profile private events
  • Coordinate FOH and bar teams during events to deliver seamless experiences
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to exceed expectations

People & standards

  • Lead, motivate and develop the FOH and bar team
  • Set the tone, pace and professionalism of service
  • Handle complaints calmly, decisively and with discretion
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety and licensing regulations

About you

To excel in this role, you will be:

  • A high-calibre hospitality professional with a luxury or premium background
  • Commercially sharp, with a strong understanding of margins and efficiency
  • Confident implementing new concepts, systems and standards
  • Naturally polished, warm and credible with senior members and guests
  • A hands-on leader who leads by example and thrives on responsibility

You’ll also bring

  • Exceptional attention to detail — you notice what others miss
  • A passion for service excellence and guest experience
  • Strong communication skills: calm, confident and professional
  • High personal presentation and presence
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Flexibility to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends

Experience

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in a luxury members’ club, 5-star hotel or premium hospitality venue
  • Strong bar knowledge (spirits, wines, cocktails) and food confidence
  • Experience delivering and managing events
  • A proven ability to run operations independently
  • Confidence handling complaints and high-expectation clientele

Why this role stands out

This is not a standard bar or FOH role.

You will have:

  • Real ownership and autonomy
  • The opportunity to build and launch a new food concept
  • Influence over standards, systems and commercial outcomes
  • A visible leadership position within a premium brand

If you enjoy shaping experiences rather than simply delivering them, this role offers genuine scope to leave your mark.

Practical details

  • Members’ club hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm
  • Events: midweek evenings & weekends
  • Working hours: open to discussion
  • Job type: Full-time (approx. 40- 45 hours per week)

Benefits

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
  • 28 days’ holiday
  • Discounted food and drink
  • Onsite parking
  • A professional, dynamic and aspirational working environment
  • Hospitality: 5 years minimum

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Benefits:
