Mama Li, a renowned Cantonese roast meat restaurant, is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual for the position of Full-Time FOH Team Lead / Shop Floor Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cashier counter and managing the shop floor to ensure exceptional customer service, smooth transactions, and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, possess strong leadership skills, and demonstrate a deep understanding of restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Cashier Management:

- Supervise and train cashiers on operating the cash register, handling transactions, and providing excellent customer service.

- Ensure cashiers follow proper cash handling procedures, including accurate counting of cash, processing credit/debit card transactions, and maintaining register balances.

- Monitor cashier performance and provide regular feedback to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

- Resolve customer complaints or issues related to the cashier counter promptly and professionally.

2. Shop Floor Management:

- Oversee the shop floor activities, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders and minimize customer wait times.

- Monitor dining areas to ensure tables are clean, supplies are stocked, and the overall ambiance meets the restaurant's standards.

- Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage inventory levels of necessary supplies, such as utensils, condiments, and takeout packaging.

3. Customer Service:

- Greet customers, assist with inquiries, and provide guidance on menu items, promotions, and special offers.

- Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, striving for prompt resolution.

- Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

4. Team Leadership:

- Train, motivate, and supervise a team of cashiers and front-of-house staff, encouraging high levels of performance and productivity.

- Schedule staff shifts to ensure appropriate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.

- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and promote teamwork.

- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, growth, and employee satisfaction.

5. Operational Efficiency:

- Implement and maintain efficient operational procedures for the cashier counter and shop floor, aiming to streamline processes and improve productivity.

- Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and operational reports to identify areas for improvement and implement effective strategies.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and food handling procedures.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in cashier management or shop floor management within the restaurant industry is preferred.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle customer complaints or issues professionally.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

- Proficiency in cash handling, including cash register operation and basic accounting.

- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including inventory management and food safety protocols.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Fluency in Cantonese and English is preferred, but not required.
