Restaurant Manager (Assistant Manager)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to support the leadership of our Front of House team. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving team performance, and ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Support the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring seamless service across front-of-house and kitchen teams.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures in line with company standards.
  • Prepare End of Day (EOD) reports, highlighting key operational updates and business performance.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation throughout the restaurant.
  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Resolve guest feedback and complaints professionally and effectively and in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure all daily transactions, reconciliations, and reporting are completed accurately.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Front of House team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily goals, promotions, events, and menu updates.
  • Ensure team members are punctual, professional, and service-ready.
  • Create a positive and supportive working environment.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing performance feedback.

Training, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all team members receive effective onboarding and ongoing training.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, COSHH, Health & Safety, and company procedures.
  • Promote a safe working environment for both guests and employees.

Commercial & Business Performance

  • Drive sales through exceptional service standards and team engagement.
  • Manage labour costs through effective rota planning.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels, stock control procedures, and wastage.
  • Encourage repeat business through outstanding hospitality and guest satisfaction.

People Management

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of team members.
  • Manage performance, conduct, and employee relations matters fairly and professionally.
  • Communicate company policies and operational updates clearly and consistently.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and represent the business professionally at all times.
  • Attend management meetings and contribute to business improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support across departments and sites when required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by senior management.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager, or Front of House Manager in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience managing rotas, labour costs, and stock control - preferred.
  • Good understanding of food safety and health & safety requirements.
  • A hands-on, positive attitude with a passion for hospitality and guest experience.
