Assistant Manager - The Moorbrook Inn, Preston

We're on the lookout for a brilliant Assistant Manager to help make The Moorbrook even better.

The Moorbrook is a proper Preston pub: real ale, craft and artisan beers, cosy tap rooms, open fires, buzzing match days and a courtyard that comes alive on event nights (with wood-fired Croston Pizza Co pizzas out back). We're part of a small, ambitious hospitality group that genuinely loves great food, drink and the people who make every visit special. Now we're looking for the right person to help us keep raising the bar.

Who we're looking for

Here's the honest truth: we can teach you about our beers, our cellar and how we do things. What we can't teach is character, personality and a positive attitude, and that's exactly what we're after. If you're the kind of person who lights up a room, makes regulars feel like family and keeps the team smiling even on the busiest Saturday, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be the General Manager's right hand and a visible, hands-on leader on the floor. One shift you're welcoming guests and pulling the perfect pint, the next you're running the pub, motivating the team and keeping everything ticking through a match-day rush. You won't be on your own, though: you'll be fully supported by the General Manager and the wider team across our group.

What you'll be doing

  • Setting the tone on the floor and making every guest feel genuinely welcome
  • Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub
  • Leading, motivating and helping train the team
  • Taking charge of shifts, opens and closes when needed
  • Building your knowledge of our rotating real ales and craft beers (and sharing it)
  • Keeping standards, cleanliness and that cosy Moorbrook atmosphere spot on

What you'll bring

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and match days
  • A genuine interest in craft and artisan beers is a lovely bonus, but not essential
