Temporary General Manager @ Jerk Junction Chorlton

6 month temporary contract with potential further opportunities

Reporting to the Head of Site Operations

We are looking for fresh new talent to join Jerk Junction! As we grow, we need you to grow with us. Are you an Assistant General Manager looking to advance your career? Overview:
As the General Manager at Jerk Junction, you will be the driving force behind delivering excellent service, maintaining smooth daily operations, and ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for our guests. You’ll work closely with the management team and be responsible for leading and motivating staff, overseeing restaurant operations, and ensuring our customers enjoy an authentic Jamaican dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:
  • Lead, inspire, and supervise a team of front-of-house and kitchen staff.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff members, ensuring all areas are covered during shifts.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment, promoting high morale and motivation.
  • Assist with staff training, development, and performance reviews.
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure exceptional service standards are consistently maintained.
  • Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the delivery of food and drinks, ensuring that quality and presentation meet the restaurant’s standards.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, particularly in food handling and preparation.
  • Operations & Quality Control:
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth service.
  • Ensure the restaurant maintains high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure stock levels are adequate and assist with inventory management.
  • Handle cash management, including processing payments and balancing tills.
  • Performance & Reporting:
  • Monitor and report on team performance and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist in generating reports regarding sales, food costs, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the implementation of strategies to increase restaurant profitability.
  • Marketing & Promotion:
  • Help promote the restaurant's special events, promotions, and menu items.
  • Engage with customers to encourage repeat business and gather feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for Jamaican cuisine and culture.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of financial management and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Caribbean or Jamaican restaurant.
  • First Aid Certification or food safety qualifications.

Working Hours:
Shifts will vary, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate restaurant hours.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
