About Las Gidi

Las Gidi Restaurant, Bar, and Lounge brings the vibrant energy, rich culture, and bold flavours from across Africa to a premium venue and dining experience. Seamlessly blending high-end Afro-fusion cuisine with a high-energy lounge and curated experience, we pride ourselves on exceptional service, premium entertainment, and unmatched hospitality.

Position Summary

As the Operations Manager, you will be the heartbeat of our daily operations. You will oversee both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams to ensure seamless execution from daytime dining to late-night lounge hours. Your primary focus will be maintaining premium service standards, maximising profitability, managing inventory, and fostering a high-performance culture in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Floor Management: Oversee day-to-day operations across the restaurant, bar, and lounge areas. Maintain a strong floor presence during peak dining and nighttime hours to ensure elite guest satisfaction and handle escalations gracefully.

Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a diverse team of service staff, bartenders, and security personnel. Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.

Financial Performance: Drive revenue and manage labour and operational costs. Monitor daily sales targets, manage cash handling protocols, and optimise inventory to minimize waste.

Beverage & Lounge Oversight: Partner with the Head Bartender/Mixologist to manage premium liquor inventory, optimise beverage cost percentages, and ensure fast, high-quality drink execution during high-volume lounge hours.

Vendor & Event Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, DJs, and event promoters to ensure seamless execution of weekend nightlife, brunches, and private bookings.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to local health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and liquor licensing laws. Maintain a secure environment in coordination with the security team.

Social Media Strategy Alignment: Partner with the Social Media Manager to align on weekly content calendars, upcoming promotions, menu launches, and event-specific marketing goals.

Content Direction & Oversight: Identify "viral moments" during high-profile events, VIP visits, or peak weekend lounge hours, and direct the floor team to capture high-quality, on-brand content.

Media Coordination: Schedule and coordinate on-site shoots with the Social Media Manager, influencers, or videographers, ensuring minimal disruption to guest dining experiences while maximising promotional impact.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 3–5+ years of hospitality management experience in a high-volume, premium restaurant, upscale lounge, or high-energy environment.

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of restaurant/bar dynamics, inventory control, and labour optimisation. Knowledge of or passion for African culture, cuisine, and Afro music is highly preferred.

Leadership Style: A hands-on leader who leads by example, remains calm under intense pressure, and possesses exceptional communication skills.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern restaurant POS systems (e.g., Square, Lightspeed), scheduling software, and inventory management tools.

Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including late nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the lounge and nightlife industry.
